Orlando R. Barone

 

Author of numerous published essays and articles, Orlando R. Barone is president of Barone Associates, a Pennsylvania based management consulting firm. Lonnie has over twenty years experience as an author, consultant, educator, trainer and lecturer specializing in interpersonal effectiveness public speaking and human motivation. His extremely varied background includes experience as a trained singer, as a worldwide marketing management consultant in a fortune fifty computer company, senior vice president of two nationally known management consulting firms, instructor at several major universities, and headmaster of a private secondary school in the Rocky Mountains. A work of his appears in the Good News Bible (Thomas Nelson), so he is arguably an inspired writer!

Lonnie has successfully consulted with over one hundred corporate and organizational clients in all areas of organizational and personal effectiveness. He has delivered keynote presentations and seminars in over forty states, Canada, and the UK, to international, national, and regional organizations and corporations.

Lonnie developed, wrote, and is featured in video-assisted training packages in Communication, Motivation, and Credibility. These packages have been used by such companies as Provident Mutual Insurance Company, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Sharp and Dohme, Tandem Computers, and the Department of Justice of California.

Lonnie is a sought-after lecturer who has conducted seminars for executive groups and community leaders throughout the USA and abroad and has appeared on talk shows from coast to coast. Numerous articles by and about Lonnie have been published in a wide range of periodicals and magazines, including, Training–HRD; Training and Development, Social Science, Today’s Office, Corporate Controller, The Charlotte Observer, the Chicago Sun Times, Marriage, US Distribution Journal, AICPA Bulletin, and US Air Magazine. His satire has appeared in the literary periodical Eclectic Rainbows. He is featured columnist for the Keystone Journal of the American Guild of Patient Account Managers. He writes on religious issues and has appeared in The Bible Today and Momentum Magazine. His writing excellence was cited by the Catholic Press Association for his series on Catholic doctrine, which appeared the Westmont Word, where his column ran regularly for three years. As mentioned, he authored one of the introductory articles to the Catholic Study Edition of the Good News Bible.

For Lonnie’s first work of long fiction, Balance Sheet, he has drawn on his ten years’ experience as a high school headmaster and teacher in Missoula, Montana, and "back east." His second novel, Tenor, tracks the international adventures, some life-threatening, of a gifted young opera singer, who also happens to be the finest college quarterback in the nation.

Lonnie is a past instructor in Training and Development at the Graduate School of St. Joseph’s University. He has also instructed at the university level in sociology, education, communication skills, philosophy, and logic. As a high school headmaster his innovative curriculum and student code were listed as exemplary models by the National Association of Secondary Principals.

Lonnie Barone received his bachelors degree, magna cum laude, from Villanova University and graduate degrees from the University of Delaware, where he was awarded the prestigious Unidel Fellowship for two consecutive years.

Lonnie lives with his wife Maida and two of their four children, Tanya and Nicholas in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The elder children, Marisa and Cari, are married to utterly splendid young men.
