"Dani" is a freelance Japanese translator/writer/photographer based in Prescott,
Arizona, where she moved from Tokyo via Kentucky in 1995. She telecommutes between
her home-office and Tokyo every day.
Thunderstruck by the 1990 3-Tenor CD ("Core 'ngrato" and "l'Improvviso" to be
specific), the former lover of rock'n'roll and rhythm and blues is now a hard-core
opera fan, whose daily dose of music is 80% opera, mainly José Carreras' recordings.
She gets overwhelmed when she thinks of how much she has to do to catch up with all
the great performances she cluelessly missed all those years, especially the 70s and
80s! (tsu tsu..) Playing José's aria or two in full volume is her ritual that people
and critters around her must put up with (or love) every day.
She has been backpacking in the Asia-Pacific region on and off for nearly 20 years
and recently moved her destinations to Europe. She is also a lifetime part-time
student of art and theater. She last added Italian to her curriculum so she could
understand what everybody, especially her favorite tenor, is screaming and sobbing
about on her boombox.
