After the recital in Yokohama on 18th, I luckily had a chance to talk to José, expressing my
thanks and got his autograph.
Moreover, how lucky I was 4 nights later. After the recital in Nagoya, I was on the way back
home to Yokohama. I was waiting for a limited express train at Nagoya station. And then,
unexpectedly I discovered José coming up to the platform to get on the same train. He was also
going back to his hotel in Tokyo.
As soon as I rushed to him, José saw me and said "Good Evening." It happened too suddenly to
me, so I could not say anything. I was just like an idiot. Many other fans also rushed to José
and surrounded him. He had been very busy in writing autographs for them until the train arrived.
It seemed to me that he was in a very relaxed mood and pleased to do so.
In the train, José and Lorenzo and a big man I don't know who he was, took seats in the green
car which means first-class. As for me, what a pity. I only had an economy class ticket.
I talked and exchanged the info with other Carreras fans in the train. More than one hour
passed. The train was arriving at Yokohama in a while. Just before I had to get off the train,
I made up my mind with courage to go to him and express my gratitude, if he was still awake and
if I might not bother him.
At a glance, I felt he was in a relaxed mood sitting in his seat. He found me approaching.
I asked for permission to talk a little and he was very kind enough to talk to me. I said how
happy I was to hear your voice tonight. José asked me if I would attend the next concert on
Friday, and I answered that I was looking forward to it very much. He said "That's good." I
said good-by to him, and then, got off the train at my home town, Yokohama.
Indeed, this was an unforgettable memory for me!
