The Osaka recital was another big success. He sang as powerfully, beautifully, softly
as he did in Tokyo. It seemed to me that he was singing more relaxed, after the success
in Tokyo, and his singing was even more expressive.
Applauding was thunderous, and he responded to the enthusiastic audience with six encores:
- Aranjuez con tu amor
- A Vucchella (for the behind-the-stage audience)
- Malinconia d'amore
- Musica Proibita
- Voce e Notte
- T'estimo
When he was ready to sing the sixth encore, everybody thought it would be "Granada", but it was
"T'estimo." I was so happy to listen to it, as I thought this was a message from José that he loved
the enthusiastic audience.
He was in a good mood and he seemed to be enjoying himself. Before one of the encores (I forgot
which one), he sat at the piano and gestured Mr.Bavaj to sing. We had a good laugh.
He didn't sign that night. Only we could see was that the car coming out of the underground
parking lot and José waving to the fans with the window down.
