The 30th Anniversary of José Carreras' debut as a tenor

On January 8, 1970, at the age of 23, José Carreras sang his first tenor role on the opera stage - Flavio in Norma at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

That small role of Flavio began a career which has now encompassed performances in all the world's great opera houses and concert stages and a repertoire of over 60 roles.

On January 8, 2000, José Carreras celebrated the 30th Anniversary of a remarkable career which has brought and continues to bring pleasure to countless people throughout the world.
