In the book Carreras discusses 40 of his signature opera roles and gives menus and recipes for dishes that are traditional for the place where the opera's action unfolds - châteaubriand with soufflée potatoes for La Traviata, tiramisú for Tosca, chestnut honey ice-cream for L'elisir d'amore, Madrid-style stew for Don Carlo...

The book also includes nutritional information for each of the 125 dishes and comes with a CD of Carreras singing arias from Aida, Carmen, Pagliacci, Turandot, Romeo et Juliette, Don Carlo and La Juive.
